Fun Q & A with our Spotlight Mom:Personal:What phrase or motto do you live by? Creating balance in your life means limitless power to create your dreams
Inspiration: My kids and husband inspire me to be the best I can be. Helping others inspires me to help bring about a more spiritually conscious world to leave to my children
If you could teach your kids one thing and have it impact them, what would it be? I try to teach my kids of the importance of giving to others. I also teach them daily that they are "creation machines" and are able to do what ever it is they set their mind to. I want them to grow up with a sense of knowing that they control their destiny in life and with the divine guidance they can go anywhere and be any thing.
How do you measure success? Balance. Mind, body, spirit
Greatest Accomplishment: My kids (of course). And getting out of a career that was taking my time and spirit and starting my coaching business. Now I can spend my days teaching others how to be all they want to be. To be someone who gives someone else's life back to them is one of the best gifts I can think of.
Proudest Moment: The birth of my kids (of course) :)
Also, watching them excel at whatever they are doing gives me a sense of pride because I see their eyes light up.
Once my daughter said to me "Mommy, that is ugly". I asked her if she knew what "ugly" meant and she told me she did not. So I told her that there was no such thing as ugly and everything is beautiful to someone or something so that means that everything is beautiful.
So she was riding in a car with her cousins and one of her cousins was talking about something being ugly and my daughter says "You know, there is no such thing as ugly, and everything is beautiful to someone so everything is beautiful." That was a pretty cool moment.
Biggest Challenge: Juggling getting a new business off the ground with marketing efforts and making sure my kids and husband come first. Keeping up with housework, etc. All the fun stuff!
Wildest Dream: My wildest dream is to be among the other talented authors on the New York Time's Best Sellers List. I want to write books that inspire people to be the best they can be and live the life they deserve.
Sport/Exercise Program: Walking and some weight training, not as much as I should
What would people be surprised to learn about you? I write poetry. I don't know if that would surprise people as much as it just being something not a lot of people know about me. I'd like to write lyrics one day. I don't know how to write music, but I've got the lyrics down pretty good.
Where did you grow up: I grew up in Ketchum, Idaho. Moved back (my family is originally from Long Beach) to California when I was 18 after graduating from High School. I actually moved here to play volleyball in college.
How many siblings: One older sister, Michelle
First Job: My first job was licking envelopes for my mom's medical office. I stuffed the bills for them. I think I got $.30 an envelope. I cleaned up!
Childhood Ambition: A famous author--go figure
Favorites:Favorite Local Restaurant: Oh baby, Mahe`. And Roma Cucina down in Sunset--very impressive veiw--and the food is very good.
Favorite Coffee Spot: That would have to be Peet's
Favorite Soundtrack/song: Sugarland "Anything Less Than Everything"
Jimmy Buffet and Martina McBride "Trip Around the Sun"
There are a lot
ANYTHING TIM MCGRAW SINGS!!!
Favorite TV Show: Smallville--guilty pleasure
Seinfeld
Friends
Retreat: Locally? Complexions
A little further away? Sun Valley, Idaho
Last Book You Read: Living the Law of Attraction by Rich German and Robin Hoch
Indulgence: A good glass of wine
or anything sweet
Tell us about a product or item that you can't live without as a parent Infusium Detangler-
Your Perfect Day: Waking up in Hawaii and having breakfast on a patio over looking the ocean with my family. Then spending the day on the beach and ending with a romantic dinner with just my husband and I somewhere on or overlooking the water.
Other:What inspires you to go to work every day? Knowing that I will make a positive difference in some one's life. Watching the look on my client's face when we've uncovered and dissolved a major block that has literally paralized them in their life and kept them unable to acheive their goals or left them depressed or dispaired in someway. When I see the relief in someone's face as their life long issues fad away is probably the most rewarding thing I can think of .
Seeing someone benefit from what I do is inspiration enough to do whatever I have to do to get it out in the world and make this type of coaching available to everyone regardless of finances or anything like that.
[Business Owners] What motivated you to start your business? I want to be part of the movement that creates a more spiritually conscious world. We can actually heal the earth and everyone on it by spreading the message of peace and joy. It sounds a little hoaky, but it works. My coaching puts the joy back in your life whether you are coaching with me to grow your business, improve your relationships or reduce your stress. It all comes fromt the same place and when you have that joy back you are able to create anything you want in your life.
[Business Owners] What is the hardest part about owning your own business? I think finding strategic and powerful ways to market yourself. Getting your name into the world is the most important thing you can do as a business owner.
